will you still need me, will you still feed me...

I'm humming the Beetle's song ‘When I'm Sixty-four'
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xnj6NxU4WHo
Because I am rapt in the headiness of a new relationship
It's a strange and wonderful sensation
A reminder that we were not made to be alone
I hope that I don't get the chance to sing "another one bites the dust' sometimes I think it's my theme song, he'd call it my mantra
A seriously positive side affect is the acknowledgment of my own growth in the area of relationships,
In the past I would run to the woods or river to escape the spell of new love, clear my head, sit on a log and wonder what in the world am I doing (its so hard to think straight when gazing into his eyes or feeling his hand around yours, especially when he surprises you with some unexpected gift of affection)
but joyfully I have noticed that I am able to call on the Holy Spirit for advice even when by his side, no its not his inability to hold me under a spell its my ability to remain sober minded under extreme situations.
I'm constantly calling on the Holy Spirit for guidance for strength against temptation, worry, fear, burdens and so much more, which is exactly what we are supposed to do,
This is why I insist on spilling my all too personal guts in this all too public manner?
As a demonstration of what should and should not be done, don't tell me you can't relate to what I say, I know you can,
I'm here to tell you that the Holy Spirit would love to hear from you too, especially in those situations where you are too embarrassed to pray, do it anyway! That is when you need his guidance most.
You'll be pleasantly surprised. He's waiting.

1 - Relationships are wonderful.
Even good relationships can be painful.
Love's a grown up game.
We all look for chemistry.
Chemistry made the atom and hydrogen bomb work.
It is not good for man (and I assume women too) to be alone.
You can make it alone.
Jesus was single.
I personally believe a good marriage is the pinnacle of Christian (and non-Christian) of life.
Look for love.
Don't ignore red flags.

Good luck! Okay, I know we don't believe in luck....
May God bless your new relationship!

As for me, next time I fall in love I won't. Next time I give away my heart I bet I don't.

The last time time I said that, I started a tumultuous relationship about two weeks later. Hoooooo weeeeee!

When I started this comment I was just going to say this:
Don't settle for flashy fireworks when it's the eternal flame you're looking for.

2 - thank you for your concern
I'll be careful
I'll look for red flags
I won't settle
I know relationships can be painful
I've bruised some folks and been bruised myself
I know relationships can be delightful
I have many found memories
I beleive a good mariage is the pinncale of life and also the hardest act of life
I know single is ok
I know Jesus and Paul both stayed that way
sometimes I wish I could stay that way
sometimes you can't help but fall
sometimes you know how it will go
sometimes you have no clue
sometimes you couldn't or wouldn't stop if you had to
thanks for the advice you remind me of and sound like a friend

3 - Several years ago in my singles group a guy filmed people giving an answer to the question "What Is Love?" The answer I remember best is something like this:
Love is a switch inside your brain that goes from ON to OFF when you meet someone you're attracted to.

A man said that, you might have to be a man to fully understand it. (Comment this)

4 - A fellow cynic,
Cool!
Let’s see how many ‘love is likes’ we can come up with.

Love is like a roller coaster ride;
You start out screaming for joy
End up screaming for fear
And even though you may throw up afterward
The next time you see a roller coaster
You’ll still try it again

Love is like
Disney World
A great place to visit
But you wouldn’t want to live there
And you’re compelled to visit at least once a year.
(As former resident of the state of Florida I felt compelled by the states pro-tourism ideology to insert that last phrase.)

Love is like
Your turn….

I can attest to that
Personally

6 - Lessee.........my mind ain't working........
I'm thinking more "physical" this morning...
Like Brad Paisley sings, "I'm still a guy..."

Love is.............
A box of Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies.......
Super sweet but they don't last long

(and like the Disney trip are pretty much a once a year thing, only cheaper :-))

Now I gotta go buy me a cinnamon swirl from Mrs. Winners or something............. (Comment this)

7 - Your heading for this post reminded me a while back I got into a discussion about the Paul McCartney divorce. I brought up the Beatles song When I'm 64 because Paul was 64 when the divorce was actually going.

I summarized the situation this way:

He said Will you still need me when I'm 64 and she said yes.

She said will you still feed me when I'm 64 and the judge said he would. (Comment this)

8 - Love is Joy...

Love is Forgiveness...

Love is...A quote from "another" Paul
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. (Comment this)

10 - Here's some lines from an old Don Williams hit written by the fabulous Dennis Linde hit from when I was about 30....

Some people say that love is a rose
Maybe they’ve hit it right on the nose
But other folks say that it’s like the sun
Well a long time ago daddy said to me
I’ll help you clear up the mystery
I’ll give you a simple rule of thumb

[chorus]
If it knocks you off your feet
Then it’s love, then it’s love
If it makes your life complete
Then it’s love, then it’s love
If it turns you upside down
Then it’s love, then it’s love
[If it makes your world go round
Then it's love]

The dictionary won’t tell you much
If love is the word you’re looking up
I don’t believe that the definition’s right
And the encyclopaedia won’t reveal
The crazy way you start to feel
Kissing on a moonlit summers night

[chorus]

So gonna say that love is a game
Maybe compare it to a flame
Or say it’s a medicine that heals
But a panel of experts could fight all night
And never figure out which one is right
But they’d agree on how it makes you feel

[chorus]

Well if it makes your world go round
Then it’s love ooh ooh ooh. (Comment this)
