I had the most awesome weekend.

First my kids at school were great and we took (SOME) of them out for ice-cream. I'd like to say right now that I told them that a large cookie dough shake with whipped cream, M&Ms and sprinkles might upset their stomachs!

Then Northside High beat Warner Robins High for the city high school football championship. Wahoooo, forever blue, I graduated in 82. Also, big fat thank-yous to the fella with the homemade sausage and the grill at the tailgate party. Yummy!

Saturday night Freedom Fest was packed and absolutely rocked. Chris Tomlin, friends and fireworks. Fireworks and Christian rock you just can't beat that with a stick.

THEN as if that wasn't enough, Sunday I went down to Hawkinsville for some archeology on the river. I had the best time, looking for caves, wadding over sandbars, paddling around, checking out the rocks (limestone covered in algae; I think they were used by the Native Americans in the area to make fishing weirs.) Of course the fact that GPTV was there filming for a documentary on the Ocmulgee River was pretty cool too.
