my class

My class, my students,

What can I say, without saying too much, oath of privacy, juveniles and all that?

Its just as I predicted, I love them, they make laugh.

They make me want to hug them, but I can't for several reasons, all sad.

I'm reading Harry Potter to them, a lot of children cannot read or comprehend at that level though they pretend to and there's something very soothing about being read to.

I have a purple pen that I keep in my hair for marking positively and negatively on their behavior charts, when I reach for it and pull it out it has all the power of a magic wand, which is funny to me.

We planted pop corn in Ziploc bags, usually it sprouts, this time it didn't, they were disappointed, they wanted to see a pop corn bush, they're so silly and inexperienced in the things that children should know and have experienced, I want to catch them up on all of it.

"They won't hit me", I say to a co-worker, which sounds awful unless you know the situation then it's good.

They have good and bad days, we all do, they're learning me and I'm learning them, I hope I can help them learn for the unexpected, that's the goal.

1 - I hear echoes of a melancholy awareness of one's frailty in your words, a twinge of sorrow because you know you know you can't change a world that needs so badly to be changed.

A while back I heard someone say "I know God lets things happen for some reasons we can't understand." He had found his brother who committed suicide.

His words have comforted me over the last few months. There's a lot of lives I'm concerned about but there is nothing I can do. On Monday a judge and some lawyers and counselors I don't know will talk and make decisions that may leave me few options. The sad thing is the decision makers act in a cold vacuum where emotions are secondary. Years later though, the emotions are what the affected souls remember.

In the places where I can help, I see myself dangling a cornicoupia of tasty delights in front of a starving soul but they either can't see it or won't reach out and take it. And those words come back to me: "God lets things happen for some reasons we don't know." (Comment this)

2 - Dear Friend,
Its sounds like you don't know the Lord as your personal savior and you need to. I would love to talk with you more. God loves you and only wants the best for you. He sent His only son to die on the cross so that our sins would be washed clean but your not clean until you except that gift. Read John 3:14-18
14Just as Moses lifted up the snake in the desert, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life.[e]

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[g]
Its our choices in life that rob us of His wonderous blessings. Don't fear, all have sinned and fallen short. I myself have fallen way short. If you read my blog you'll know it, if your my friend you really know it. Every moment of every day I'm more and more grateful to be loved by a forgiving and merciful savior.
As for understadning God, well, in my own words if we could understand his ways he wouldn't be much of a God. The Bible says, "God's ways are not ours, God's thoughts are higher than ours, we cannot understnd them" thats my own paraphrase I can't think of the scripture right now. Check out first Psalm 8:3-4
3 When I consider your heavens,
the work of your fingers,
the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

4 what is man that you are mindful of him,
the son of man that you care for him?
I will keep you in my prayers.
